40,000 Children Are Being Ministered To Everyday!

Dear Visionary Leader,

Billion Soul Greetings!

Recently, Rev. Scott Salter, a powerful Ministry Representative of One Child Matters, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and I synergized together in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Scott is a gifted communicator who is passionate about seeing the lives of children blessed and transformed. He also has the desire to show pastors and business leaders how a child sponsorship can infuse new life into their congregations and businesses. Scott graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, and received a Masters of Divinity with honors from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK.

The vision of One Child Matters goes back to 1954, when missionaries Mark and Huldah Buntain arrived in Kolkata (Calcutta), India to begin more than three decades of ministry among Kolkata’s poor and needy. God was moving, and the ministry was incorporated as Mission of Mercy in 1974. In the year following Mark Buntain’s death in 1989, Mission of Mercy came under the leadership of Bethesda Ministries who committed to provide administrative and financial support to the organization. Although the ministry’s focus began to expand beyond India to other countries, the intent remained the same: continue to proclaim the message of the grace and redemption available through Jesus Christ while meeting the practical needs of the poor, one child at a time.

Their purpose and calling was confirmed in that vision – focusing on the one, just as Jesus did when the crowds pressed in around Him. The goal to find others who believe that one child matters and empower them to change that child’s life moved from a statement of belief to the core philosophy of One Child Matters.

Today, One Child Matters is working in 16 of the poorest countries in the world, bringing hope, truth, life, love, and mercy to more than 40,000 children through a child sponsorship. To God be the glory!

While I was in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I saw first hand two powerful school projects that were literally educating and transforming young students “one at a time.” It was deeply moving to see boys and girls being able to obtain a foundational education that will help break the property cycle of their past and give them the opportunity to have a successful Christian future. Of course, the student has to apply the necessary effort and discipline, but gratefully 40,000 God-given opportunities are being created everyday! Due to the generous investments of pastors, people and business leaders, computer labs have even been installed to catapult students into high-tech world required for future success.

One Child Matters has chosen to be the North American Sponsor of the Synergize 4 Pastors Conference on January 21-23, 2014, in Orlando, Florida.

We are most grateful for their generosity invested into BSN and into the upcoming global conference. I want to take a moment to encourage you to check out their website, OneChildMatters.com and prayerfully consider becoming a child sponsor! As I walked through the school halls, watching the children as they studied, I prayed that the Lord of the Harvest would call at least 10% of these 40,000 students into full-time ministry. I believe as we sow into the kind of harvest that we pray for in our lives, that in return our Lord will also give us this kind of harvest into our respective ministries.

Be sure to sign up for the Synergize 4 Pastors Conference today. We are expecting 1,500 pastors/leaders from 75 to 100 nations. The Global CoChairs of the Billion Soul Network invite you to join us this winter in gorgeous, sunny Orlando! Blessings.
