How To Make It Through The Rain
5 MILLION NEW CHURCHES – 1 BILLION SOULS
Dear Visionary Leader,
It is working! More than two years ago, key global leaders synergized their energies together to form a networking strategy for unreached people groups. Last September, Operation Agape and the Billion Soul Network hosted the first of many Finish Line Summits in Delhi, India. More than five hundred strategic Indian leaders, representing more than 125 unreached people groups convened to “punch a hole into the darkness” of this region.
We must move forward with great purpose and power. As manmade and natural disasters take tens of thousands of lives, it reminds us of the millions who have never been provided an adequate witness of the Gospel.
Our networking strategy is pictured through the use of an arrowhead. There are five dynamic links in this arrowhead that build accuracy and momentum for Gospel penetration among an unreached people. These five are:
- Seek The Lost (1 or 2 disciples in the people group)
- Save The Lost (neighboring disciples)
- Synergize with Others For the Lost (national organizations)
- Sow Into The Lost (regional involvement)
- Send To The Lost (adopters outside the region)
This simplistic yet strategic approach is multipliable in any world region.
Last fall, Founding Pastor Mark Morrow of Crosswalk Community Church in Williamsburg, Virginia, chose to adopt the Tarkhan People Group of Northern India. In February, Pastor Morrow flew to Northern India to be with Alex Abraham, founder of Operation Agape and CoChair/Global Resources to develop a strategy to reach the Tarkhan People Group.
This past weekend, Alex Abraham and James O. Davis met with Mark Morrow and the Crosswalk Task Force that has been established to evangelize the Tarkhan people in the years ahead. A twelve-point strategy will result in a church planting movement throughout this region. Pastor Morrow states, “The adopting of the Tarkhan people has revolutionized our church!”

Visionary Coaching
At the close of the Sermon On The Mount, Jesus Christ told a story about two houses and one storm. He said that one house was built on the rock while the other was built on the sand. The main point of this powerful story is that a lot of people are all house but no foundation. It is the foundation that matters the most when the storms of life come. The Bible teaches that it rains on the just and the unjust; the righteous and the unrighteous.
Over the last two and half years, we have witnessed firsthand the world being shaken by earthquakes, volcanoes, civil wars, political uprisings, tsunamis, nuclear explosions, financial debacles and much more. Yet, we put our trust in the King of the Universe!
Many years ago, I heard a song that has stuck with me through the ups and downs, darkness and light, through grief and glory. Out of the hundreds of global updates, this is the first time I have referred to a song. The title of the song is “I Made It Through The Rain.” I hope it is an encouragement to you.
We dreamers have our ways
Of facing rainy days
And somehow we survive
We keep the feelings warm
Protect them from the storm
Until our time arrives
Then one day the sun appears
And we come shining through those lonely years
I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it through the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
And found myself respected
By the others who
Got rained on too
And made it through
When friends are hard to find
And life seems so unkind
Sometimes you feel so afraid
Just aim beyond the clouds
And rise above the crowds
And start your own parade
‘Cause when I chased my fears away
That’s when I knew that I could finally say
I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it through the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
And found myself respected
By the others who
Got rained on too
And made it through
Sin will never win and faith in Christ will never fail. Please pray for the lost in Japan and for Christians who are facing the greatest storm of their lives. And remember, the global Church will never be any smaller than it was this past weekend. Blessings!
