It’s A Miracle!
WINNING THE SECOND BILLION TOGETHER!
With God, all things are possible! This image, captured by NASA’s Chandra X-ray on April 15, 2009, has been dubbed “The Hand of God.”
Dear Visionary Leader,
Billion Soul Greetings!
In the winter of 1980, in Lake Placid, New York, the late Hall of Famer Herb Brooks led the US Hockey Team to the gold medal, beating the Soviet and Finland teams. Against all odds, the US Team beat the best hockey teams in the world to become the best hockey team in the world. Mr. Brooks used to say, “Great moments provide great opportunities.” There is no “I” in team.
On May 28-29, 2009, the West Africa Billion Soul Leadership Summit will convene at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. We are thrilled and thankful for world class presenters, shown on the left, who are investing their wisdom and time at this strategic summit. If you are interested in attending, register here today, as limited space is still available. Last weekend, the New York Times included our comments from an interview in a 10-page article on the “Redeemed Christian Church of God.” It is a fascinating read and a tribute to one of the fastest-growing church fellowships in the world.
The President of Evangelism Explosion, John Sorensen, and Vice President of North America, Ken Silva, are Platinum partners in the Synergize 2! Pastors Conference on January 19-21, 2010, Orlando, Florida. John Sorensen has been an integral part of “Billion
Soul” since its inception. He will bring a dynamic presentation on soul winning at the West Africa Billion Soul Leadership Conference in Lagos, Nigeria. Evangelism Explosion equips churches for soul-winning!
LAWS OF COMMUNICATION
The Twenty Indispensable Laws of Communication, the latest book by Dr. James O. Davis, will be released on May 5, 2009. Dr. Leonard Sweet wrote in his Foreword, “During the technological transition from analogue to digital, communicators are challenged with the complexity of connecting both Gutenberg and Google Worlds with the Gospel. James O. Davis has carefully and creatively shared the bridge-building components to help us to connect and communicate to ‘Gutenbergers’ and ‘Googlers’ worldwide.” Watch for the announcement, as you will receive the first opportunity to acquire this valuable tool.
At the Synergize 2! Pastors Conference, Dr. Johnny Hunt, the Founding Pastor of Woodstock Baptist Church and the President of the Southern Baptist Convention, will bring a power presentation. Pastors and leaders are already registering from every major world region. You may still secure the 70% discount, saving roughly US$200, as one of the first to register to join us in beautiful Florida in January!
Our core beliefs determine our behavior. It is vital as leaders that we bathe ourselves in the Word of God daily. In 2006, I was fortunate to interview the former Mayor of New York City, Rudolph Giuliani at the Billion Soul Pastors Conference in Orlando, Florida. I asked, “How does a leader know what to do in a horrific situation?” I often wondered how such leaders determine what to do when information was slow or nonexistent. His answer was, “When there is not enough time to make knowledgeable decisions, we must make decisions based upon God’s Word.”
Years after the “Miracle on Ice” at Lake Placid, Mr. Brooks stated, “I’ve often been asked what was the best moment for me? Well, it was…the sight of 20 young men of such differing backgrounds now standing as one. Young men willing to sacrifice so much of themselves all for an unknown…But on one weekend, as America and the world watched, a group of remarkable young men gave the nation what it needed most—a chance, for one night, not only to dream, but a chance, once again, to believe.”
In every leader’s life there comes a time when we do more than choose from right and wrong, but have to choose right from right. Rather than copying what others have done, in these hard decisions of right versus right we must pursue the God-given dream that He breathed into us and trust His Word to guide us.
Until The Last Person Has Heard,
James O. Davis
