Last week, we were fortunate launch the Baltic HUB with Pastor Alexey Ledyaev. In 1989, Alexey pioneered the New Generation Church in Riga, Latvia, along with a movement of churches throughout his region, even into Ukraine and Russia. Today, there are nearly 400 churches connected to the New Generation Movement.
The Billion Soul Network is thrilled to partner with Pastor Alexey and his world class team in the furtherance of the synergizing of relationships, the systematizing of resources and the strategizing among unreached people groups. Over the last several years, I have asked, “What is the shortest distance between two points? I always get the same answer: A straight line! Yet, I contend that this may be true in geometry but it is not true among people. The shortest distance between two points is a close relationship. Depending on how deep the relationship is, there can be no distance at all between two people.
If you have determined to build a relational network in your city, then take great care to cultivate meaningful relationships and then protect them from worldly wolves. When you say you are going to do something, then be sure to do it or let your friend know about the delay. The deeper the relationship, the shorter the distance between two points, no matter where they are on the planet.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned is that one of the greatest gifts a person can give is to connect a friend into a new relationship. When we are the recipient of such generosity, we need to take great care to treat our new friend at the level of mutual respect in the months to come. I encourage you today to shorten the distance between you and another key person in your area for the purpose of helping to fulfill the Great Commission.
