|Dear Visionary Leader,
When I was 15 years old, my Father had a plant nursery business called, Davis Brothers’ Nursery in Mobile, Alabama. Our nursery had more than 30,000 hanging baskets in greenhouses and thousands of potted plants outside. During my high school years and early college years, when I was not in class, I worked long hours there. On a particular Saturday, our team of about 15 to 20 workers, were potting plants outside and putting the pots on a large cart, that would be pulled by a tractor out to a vast open field and unloaded in a neat row. I was given the job assignment to be on the top of the cart, grabbing the potted plants and placing them neatly on top.
While I was going as fast as I could to stay caught up with moving the plants, my back was hurting badly and I was getting behind. I remember looking at my Father, who was in the middle of the workers on the ground. He could see the pain in my face, as I was doing the best I could to stay caught up. Immediately, he jumped up on top of the cart and began helping me. I never forgot that moment. When I needed help, my Father, stopped everything else he was doing, to help his son.
Likewise, we have a heavenly Father, who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities and wants to come alongside us to help make our burden lighter. I encourage you to take a few moments to watch the video below. Our video theme is, “We Could Not Have Done It Without You!”
