The Billion Soul Harvest Of The Global Church Network

When the late Dr. Bill Bright, Founder of Campus Crusade (Cru) and I launched the Global Church Network (also referred to as Billion Soul Network), we launched the Global Church Divinity School (GCDS.tv) in 2002. I remember, like it was yesterday, sharing with Dr. Bright in the fall of 2001, about the online streaming capacity through Real Networks located in Seattle, Washington. I explained to Dr. Bright that we would be able to train pastors and leaders worldwide.

The Early Vision of Internet Training

In November 2001, Dr. Bright and I hosted a nationwide conference call with 105 distinguished leaders. During the conference call, we streamed live power point slides that would move from one to the other while the listeners on the call watched it in real time. Please remember the year was 2001; not 2024. The speed of the Internet was 56k when we launched the Global Church Divinity School with the purpose of training millions of pastors for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

In January, 2002, at the Beyond All Limits Conference (Synergize 2002), before more than 5,000 pastors/leaders at First Baptist Church, Dr. Bright and I launched the Global Church Network and the Global Church Divinity School. Dr. Bright stated, “I have been apart of launching 70 ministries, but the technology now available to train pastors worldwide is the greatest thing I have ever been apart of. It is awesome.” Additionally, we announced the vision of planting five million churches for a Billion Soul Harvest in the next 10 to 15 years.

On October 19, 2002, at Dr. Bright’s 81st Birthday inside the Hyatt Regency in the Orlando International Airport, the Global Church Network streamed all of the presentations to 114 countries simultaneously. The picture featured is from mainline China, where more than 100 young leaders have gathered to listen and watch the GCN WorldCast. Please keep in mind, this took place before the iPhone, IPad, and YouTube.

The Ongoing Billion Soul Harvest Vision

Seventeen years later, on November 7, 2019, the Global Church Network surpassed the goal of helping to plant five million new churches for a billion soul harvest. GCN has continued to stay focused on synergizing, mobilizing and finalizing the Great Commission. Since January, 2002, GCN has helped to plant 7 million new churches and helped to win 1.35 billion people to Christ. With the current rate of growth through the Global Hubs of Christianity and the Global Church Divinity School, it is estimated that by December 31, 2030, GCN will cross the 2nd Billion Soul Harvest!

The Global Church Leadership Meeting

During the recent, annual Global Church Leadership Meeting at the DFW Grand Hyatt Hotel, we brought powerful updates regarding the Million Ministers Mandate, the Billion Soul Harvest and FINISH 2030. We were fortunate to have Mr. Mike Pompeo, former 70th Secretary of State, and Dr. Robert Jeffress, Lead Pastor of First Baptist Dallas, as our two opening keynote speakers. The 700 Club of the Christian Broadcasting Network recently featured Global Church Network. You can watch on CBN by clicking the button below.

During the Global Church Leadership Meeting the following highlights were given regarding Global Church Network:

  • There are now more than 225 Hubs training pastors and leaders!
  • There are now more than 250 Courses in the Global Church Divinity School! Through Artificial Intelligence, GCDS is scaling to 100 languages.
  • The FINISH Summits collective goal so far is 3,600,000 new ministers with four summits still remaining!

When the leaders arrived to the GCLM, they saw all 196 nations represented, along with 25 territories. With each nation, the population was featured, along with the number of new ministers needed in that nation. For example, in Malaysia the population is 35,000,000 and the needed new ministers is 14,200. The number of new ministers is determined by dividing the population by 2,500. A lot of the new ministers are planting new churches, replacing aging pastors or joining the local church staff or team. With the current population of 8.2 billion and rising, the need of new ministers exceeds 3.5 million. In other words, in order to complete the Great Commission, the Church will need millions of new ministers throughout the world.

The Million Ministers Mandate continues to move forward toward its goal of equipping 1 million new ministers by the 2000th Birthday of Church. GCN plans to celebrate the 2,000th Birthday of the Church on June 9-11, 2030, in Jerusalem, Israel. Since King Herod died in March or April, 3 or 4 BC and Jesus was born before King Herod died, we know that Jesus died around 28 AD to 30 AD; not 33 AD. The center of Christianity is not Rome but Jerusalem.

Jerusalem Council II: The Third Millennium Church

Jerusalem Council II will convene on August 12-14, 2025, in Athens, Greece. We are inviting 490 distinguished pastors, scholars, missiologists, overseers, superintendents, and business leaders to join us. We are humbly coming together to seek the Lord, to serve each other and to strive to answer the seven toughest questions of our time in order to fulfill the Great Commission. You read more at JerusalemCouncil2.com.

I was recently fortunate to be in Athens, Greece. While we were there, we met with key Christian leaders, Intercontinental Hotel Management, Timothy’s Family Travel Company and shot several promotional videos. During JCII, all of the presentations and discussions will be comprised and placed in the Third Millennium Church Leadership Guide. At the closing ceremony of JCII, the Third Millennium Church Declaration will be collectively read together and committed to as we make plans to step into the 3rd millennium. Truly, this only happens once every 1,000 years! If you were Methuselah and missed the new millennium, since he lived 969, he would not live long enough to see the next one!

If you have an interest in attending JCII, then we urge to signup before it is too late at JerusalemCouncil2.com.

We are most grateful for your prayer support and financial support. If you are not supporting Global Church Network on a monthly basis, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to do so. Every $20 helps us to fully equip a pastor somewhere in the world! Blessings!
